Now you can use AWS Config to record and retrieve the history of changes to resource compliance as assessed by AWS Config Rules. This can assist to gather helpful historical data for compliance auditing.

AWS Config rules were evaluated formerly in real-time compliance stages. And currently, Compliance history is offered as a timeline which is accessible to view the configuration in the AWS Config Console. If you choose to record all resource types in AWS Config, yo will by default begin to record the resource compliance history as assessed by AWS Config Rules.

If you selectively record resource types today, you can opt-in by choosing to record AWS Config compliance history from the AWS Config settings. The compliance history of resources is stored as configuration items and metered as per the AWS Config pricing. The feature is now accessible in Regions where AWS Config rules is available.
