Amazon Inspector now extends the CIS benchmark support for additional Linux Operating System

With the latest support, you can now run Inspector Center for Internet Security assessments on Linux v201y.09 and earlier, CentOS Linux v6 and 7, Ubuntu Linux v14.04 and 16.04 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux v6 and 7. CIS assessments are run so to check the configuration of the Amazon Elastic Cloud Compute instances against the security configuration best practices that are developed by the CIS. The Center for Internet Security Benchmark improves the security standards that deliver host guidelines that safeguard the Amazon EC2 instances. After running the assessment, the CIS Benchmark lays out rules and guidelines depending on the findings and details the steps that are needed to follow to reduce the vulnerabilities such as weak password policy and insecure configurations.
