Target Tracking is now available in Amazon Elastic Container Service Console

Service Auto Scaling can now be set up to utilize the target tracking policies for the containerized services directly from the Amazon Elastic Container Service Console. With the Target Tracking the users can now choose a load metric for the service such as the Request count per target or Average CPU utilization, configure the target value and Auto Scaling adjust the number of the task that is operating for the service to manage the target value. Earlier you could only auto scale the Amazon Elastic Container Service by using the step scaling policies which required the users to manage and create the Amazon CloudWatch Alarm for the metrics that you wanted to trigger scaling adjustments. From the Amazon Elastic Container Service Console, you can now set up the target tracking for a service by setting custom load metrics to scale the applications.
