AWS Storage Gateway Service now adds Server Message Block support

The AWS Storage Gateway Service has now added support for the Server Message Block (SMB) protocol to File Gateway so that the files based application for Microsoft Windows can be easily accessed and store the objects in the Amazon Simple Storage Service. With the File Gateway, the applications can now store the files as the objects in the Amazon Simple Storage Service using Server Message Block version 2 and 3 as well as the network file system version 3 and 4.1. The file gateway Server Message Block file shares and objects can be controlled by using the corporate Active Directory domains or you can also use the authenticated guest access.
