Cross Platform documents and multiple steps document are now added for the support in Amazon EC2 System Manager. Before, you had to manage separate platform specific document so that you can run the plugins or same steps on Windows and Linux instances. Now adding Cross-Platform and Multi step documents you now run steps for Linux and Windows instances in the same document. You can now update Linux and Windows instances using one document. This will give you the advantage of managing fewer documents of Windows and Linux instances. You need to first update to the latest agent to use Cross Platform and multi step documents.
