AWS Launching the Amazon Linux 2 Preupgrade Assistant

Amazon Linux 2 is the next-generation Amazon Linux operating system which gives a modern application environment with the current improvements from the Linux community and provides long-term assistance. To make relocation easier to Amazon Linux 2, AWS will pursue to give security updates for Amazon Linux AMI 2018.03, the last version of Amazon Linux AMI until June 30, 2020. Amazon Linux 2 is obtainable in every public regions and offered without any extra charges except the Amazon EC2 instance utilization. AWS introduces the availability of preupgrade assistant which makes it simpler to move to Amazon Linux 2 from Amazon Linux AMI. You can execute the preupgrade assistant on your instances running Amazon Linux to verify for incompatibilities in packages, libraries, services, command-line options, and configuration files. The assistant generates a report outlining potential incompatibilities and provide guidance to relocate them.
