Now T3 Instance Types Supported By Amazon RDS For MySQL and MariaDB

Now you can start T3 Instance Types while utilizing Amazon RDS for MySQL and Amazon RDS for MariaDB. Amazon EC2 T3 instances are the next generation burstable general-purpose instance type which offer a baseline level of CPU performance with the potential to burst CPU consumption for any period of time, at any time and however long needed. T3 instances provide a balance of compute, memory, and network resources and are suitable for database workloads with average CPU consumption that meet provisional spikes in utilization. T3 instances gather CPU credits when a workload is working under the baseline. Each earned CPU credit gives the T3 instance the chance to burst with the performance of an entire CPU core for a minute. Amazon RDS T3 instances are configured for Unlimited Mode, thus they can burst beyond the baseline over a 24-hour window for an extra cost. You can scale up to the new instance types by improving your current DB instance in the AWS RDS Management Console. To know pricing and regional availability, refer Amazon RDS pricing page.
