Amazon EC2 M5 instances are the following generation of the Amazon EC2 General Purpose compute instances. M5 instances provides a balance of compute, memory, and networking resources for a wide range of database workloads. Now, M5 Instances launching can be possible while using Amazon RDS for SQL Server. M5 instances are powered by 2.5 GHz Intel Xeon Scalable processors and offer enhanced price/performance differentiated with M4 instances. To match the requirement of concerted database workloads, M5 instances start a new larger sized instance, m5.24xlarge, that gives 96 vCPUs, 384 GiB of memory and 25 Gbps of network bandwidth. These new instance can simply scale up to classes by altering your current DB instance in the AWS Management Console.
