Now, Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL Assists R5 Instance Types

Amazon RDS makes it simple to set up, operate, and scale PostgreSQL deployments in the cloud. You can deploy scalable PostgreSQL deployments within few minutes with cost-efficient and resizable hardware capacity with Amazon RDS. Now, you can start R5 instance types while using Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL. R5 instances are related to the Amazon EC2 Nitro System, a fusion of dedicated hardware and lightweight hypervisor which provides virtually all of the compute and memory resources of the host hardware to your database instance. Amazon EC2 R5 instances are the upcoming creation of Amazon EC2 memory optimized instances. With a 1:8 vCPU to memory ratio and the immense size, R5 instances are entirely worthy for incessant memory intensive database workloads containing transaction processing, data warehousing, and analytics. R5 instances present a new greater sized instance, r5.24xlarge, which offers 96 vCPUs and 768GiB of memory per instance. According to your workload, you may be able to reach up to 35% performance increase with R5 instances differentiated with R3 or R4 instances. It is simple to scale up to these new instance classes by changing your current DB instance in the AWS RDS Management Console.
