You now upgrade the Redis Cluster environments to the latest version with Amazon ElastiCache

Amazon ElastiCache for Redis now adds support for an in-place upgrade for Redis Cluster that will allow you to upgrade to the latest version. The Redis Cluster environments can be upgraded to the latest version with the new support without any application changes or any need for manual steps. For Non-Redis Cluster mode Redis, the in-place version is already supported by Amazon ElastiCache. Redis Cluster enables datasets to be distributed on multiple Redis nodes. Earlier the users had to go through the process of performing manual steps by taking snapshot restoring the cluster and update all the endpoint reference. But with the new support, the Amazon ElastiCache takes care of the all the necessary steps by allowing the cluster to run when the Redis cluster environment is upgrading.
