Now with the latest update, the Amazon Aurora Auto Scaling removes and adds Aurora Replicas automatically to the changes in the performance metrics that is been determined. You can now specify a preferred value for the predefined metrics for the Aurora Replicas with Aurora Auto Scaling feature. A custom metric can also be created for Aurora Replicas with Auto Scaling. The Amazon Aurora AutoScaling adjusts the number of the Aurora Replicas to maintain the metric closest to the value that you have determined. This new feature is available in the Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL compatibility. The Aurora Auto Scaling works with Amazon CloudWatch which will help you monitor the performance of the metrics of the Aurora Replicas.
