AWS now allows you to simplify user Logon Names in Amazon Web Services Managed Microsoft Active Directory

The Active Directory Logon names can be simplified for your users by adding an alternate user principal name suffix in your Amazon Web Services (AWS) Directory Service for Microsoft Active Directory (AD). User principal name logon name includes a username, @symbol, and UPN suffix. The default User principal name suffix in AWS Managed Microsoft Active Directory is your Directory Domain Name System such as ‘corp.example.com. You can now add an alternate User principal name suffix such as example.com so that to simplify a user’s logon name. If the organization has various subsidiaries then you can add a User Principal Suffix for each subsidiary to create new user accounts. This provides Active Directory administrators the flexibility in how to manage users in the directory while simplifying the user logon experience.
