AWS had announced that now the customers can choose to receive longer format resource IDs before the permanent switch to longer IDs after June 2018. Amazon is publishing Amazon Machine Image’s with longer IDs for the customers to utilize it to test the systems. TestLongsIDs- Microsoft Windows Server 2016 base, TestLongsIDs – Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 Base and amzn-ami-hvm-2017.09.1-longidtest.20171120-x86_64-s3 are the secordary versions of existing Amazon Machine Image that is used for testing purpose only.
